Interview With Cameron Bryze
Everyone give a warm welcome Cameron Bryce pope pr better known as Cameron Bryze a upcoming artist coming out of Augusta, Georgia. With his latest release called “Some Nights” which has just been released and is already picking up steam.
How’d you get the stage name Cameron Bryze?
“Alot of my friends back at home call me Haze. Cameron is my first name and Bryce is my middle name. So I just put Bryce and Haze together and made it Bryze. Plus Cameron Bryze sounds exactly like my actual name. So I was like f**k it. This is gonna be what I go by now”
Did you have any other stage names before Cameron Bryze?
“Yes I did. I went by Lil Pope first. Then I changed it to Yung Daddy. And the name before Cameron Bryze, was Haze. I still go by Haze because a lot of people know me by it.”
What was it like growing up in Augusta, Georgia?
“Growing up in Augusta was really fun. Once you do everything it gets kinda boring but I just love it there. It’s my home. From going downtown and skateboarding to chilling at a park. It’s enjoyable to me and I feel at peace in Augusta. It’s a small town but there’s good people.”
What was it like writing “Some Nights”?
“Some Nights is just one of those songs I didn’t really write. It was like a melodic freestyle I came up with. I heard the beat, closed my eyes, and then it was just like my emotions came out of me. I write some of my music but most the time, I just say what comes to my head and I just go on from there.”
Did any artist influence your style? If so who?
“Yes, many artist inspired me. Big ones such as XXXTentacion, Juice Wrld, and Lil Peep. And also underground artist I really look up to such as Jumex, PoorStacy, and Lil Heartbreak. I’m big on alternative/emo type music. Just sad music makes me happy. That might not make sense to some people but to me it’s my comfort zone. It’s something I can relate too.”
What are your goals before 2020 ends?
“To be real with you I don’t have any goals for the rest of the year. This year has sucked. But if I could just get more music out there then I’d be happy with that. It’s gonna be a long time till I blow up or if I ever do blow up. But I just want my music to be heard by others and I want it to be a place where people can relate to my songs. 2021 is where my goals really start. Because by then I’ll have a lot more music out and I’ll be onto much bigger things.”
