Interview With Gio Creator of Visions Attire
Welcome Devyn Giovengo AKA Gio a 20 year old who is on the rise for his brand and clothing. A new style that sure to catch the attention of others.
How’d you come up with the brand name Visions Attire?
“We were all brainstorming names and Mikel said Visions… at first i didn’t really like it, I added attire at the end because I felt like “clothing” or “apparel” sounded generic. But after we dropped our first item I liked the name, it just stuck.”
Did anyone inspire you to make a brand?
“No, I wore uniforms all through middle school so that might’ve had some type of effect on it.”
So what got you into making clothes?
“In 8th grade I had my own shoe restoring and customizing company… I wanted to branch into clothing too so I had a clothing line “Zeal”, I forget what zeal actually means but that was my line, i was putting clothes out with a iron on transfer logo and was also making clothes for other people with their own logo on it.”
What was it like growing up in Pittsburgh, PA ?
“I feel like it was as normal as it gets, there’s people with a lot of money, people with little to no money, a bunch of different types of people. Growing up I lost some people and overcame some other things too. I watched star athletes & 4.0 scholars who had it all made lives come out and turn into the same average joe doing nothing with their life. I’ve seen that with too many people that’s a reason I refuse to give up.”
Did growing up in Pittsburgh, PA influence the style of your clothing?
“I would say so, I love putting out clothing that’s like a deep yellow and that’s probably because our sports teams. When I put it out it’s not specially cause they’re “Pittsburgh” colors. I just like it… Pittsburgh doesn’t really have their own “style” though, we have a few local clothing lines and our brands are nothing alike… Like Föreign, shoutout to Corn!”
What are your goals for 2020?
“Just keep doing what I’m doing and keep juggling everything in life I have going on. People on the outside see everything I have going on and think it’s all easy but it’s definitely not. I’m more busy I’ve ever been in my life still trying to have somewhat of a social life in there too haha.”
