Everyone give a warm welcome to Jacob agborkima better know as Jacob Pnake. He’s a 21 year old artist that was born in Cameroon, Africa but Is currently living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. With a big hit called “In the party interlude”.

Where did you get the stage name Jacob Pnake at? Did you have any other names before that?

“The name “Pnake” comes from a younger version of myself being inspired of the biblical story of Saul turned Paul. He was bad then turned good. Snake (mainly the one in the garden) turned good = Pnake. I liked the concept of having been bad then “Seeing the light” lol. Before that and simultaneously, I also went by Jacob Ak. They both embodied different personas but as I’ve gotten older i don’t feel there’s a need for personas. I just wanna make music as a singular me or one name :)”

What is it like living in Oklahoma city?

“I came to Oklahoma in 2011 and I think right then was the beginning of a cultural surge or something like that. I feel like the thunder were doing good and the city had a kind of prideful energy about it. There wasn’t much of a music culture but I think that was the same time when kids around my age were creating a vision of creating one and/or contributing to it. People like the Pwap and N7 and a lot of others are doing big parts upholding and slowly but surely creating a tight-knit music culture independent of Any other music hubs. I personally see this happening and want to be as much of a part of it as I can.”

What made you want to pursue music?

“I grew up around a very musical environment. Cameroonians have a unique rhythm and melody use in their songs & listening to it young was subconsciously priming me to search for certain things in music that I like. That being said I also would sometimes hear songs from artist that broke global scale. Michael Jackson was my childhood musical idol because of a combination of his music, talent, and stage presence. When I watched his live videos young that was probably when I decided what I wanted to do but I never consciously made the decision until years later when I’m introduced to the rap culture of America.”

Did any artist influence your style? If so, who?

“I was very inspired by Kanye west as an artist. I also see that in today’s culture a sustainable music career is very achievable. Now you just gotta couple that with the belief that you’re the best sh*t To ever happen and that’s my drive!”

What was it like making your “Serendipity” Album?

“SERENDIPITY! it was a journey and a wonderful teacher. All my projects are great teachers for me. 99% of the album was done by me. Not just music wise but that as well. I did the picture, Sent it out for release, and did my hand at its marketing all by myself. It’s my baby and i take pride in that fact. It did make me realize, however, that if you take that route of doing it all yourself you can easily get burnt out so it taught me in a sense to seek out Some like minded individuals.”

What are your goals before 2020 ends?

“My goal before 2020 ends is to be more established in my path in life by my standards. That’s a really general statement it seems but music is a large portion of it. More fans! More music! Just More!”
