Interview with Jessie Andrew

Everyone say hello to Jessie Andrew a arising star from Florida. A 18 year old artist who’s been writing music since the age 12. Shortly after, at the age of 17 he began to finally release his music.

Where’d you get the stage name?

“I started off with multiple names. The first was when I was young and it was “Savior” then it was “AK-$Kelly” lol. One of my friends actually jokingly used to call me “Jessie Andrew” because she knew I wrote music. It was a joke at first but then it actually became my stage name.”

What made you wanna start music?

“I don’t feel like I ever really started. I always was into art, of any kind.I drew pictures a lot as kid, and I discovered more and more music around 9. I wrote short stories, comics. But with a lot of stuff happening around me, writing about it actually seemed to help. I remember realizing it in class one day when I was finishing something I wrote. It made me excited and gradually those stories turned to songs.”

When did you start?

“In middle school I started writing. When i got a job as a sophomore in high school I saved enough to make a studio and put songs out in 11th grade.”

Who influenced your style?

“When i was little I didn't have a way to listen to what I wanted so all I ever heard was gospel rnb shit like that. I started out listening to alternative, then got into rap when I was 9. I think many people influence me in general but strictly rap wise I’d say J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the creator, Eminem, Mobb Deep, Ab-Soul and Lil Wayne.”

What are your goals for 2020?

“To grow and change, in the most beneficial way. The same every year. I have a collective of EP’s I've been waiting to put out. I’m just trying to grow as a artist so I can have a legitimate fan base to hear it. It’s something that’s really important to me.
