Interview With KingKay

Everyone give a warm welcome to Kashon Paige are better known as Kingkay. A 21 year old upcoming artist from Claxton, Georgia.

How’d you get the stage name “KingKay”?

“I use to go by a different name until I reached my sophomore year of highschool because I started taking my music more seriously, plus people already called me Kay I just added king in front of it.”

Did you have any other stage names beforehand? if so what?

“Yes it use to be k.dot but I cringed at the name when I reached high school.”

What was it like growing up in Claxton , Georgia?

“It’s a small town, everybody knows everybody. I didn’t stay there long because my mom met my step dad who was in the military. When they got married we moved away to Florida.”

What made you want to pursue music?

“I always loved music, weather it was my mom playing r&b music, my dad playing Jamaican music or dancehall, to my uncle playing the classics at family gatherings. Music is apart of my family.”

Did any artist influence your style? if so, who?

“Many unknown artist or smaller artist influenced my sound. Such as bees,chance the rapper at that time, my homie Elon from Florida, or even band such as Lincoln park or nirvana.”

What are your goals for 2021?

“I wanna do more shows. Feature with different artist around the world or maybe even sigh a deal.”
