Everyone give a warm welcome to 18 year old upcoming artist Thade Hildebrandt better known as Raddeus. Coming out of Layton, Utah with biggest song being “Nothin 2 It (feat. TheVan & RedDot)”.

How’d you get the stage name Raddeus?

“Since my name is Thade, some of my friends like to call me Thaddeus, and from that came Raddues.”

Did you have any other stage names before Raddeus?

“Not necessarily, I have various nicknames given to me by my friends, one of which is Teatot (which is the name of my new album). Before I choose Raddeus I would freestyle on beats I made with my friends, and they would call me Lil Teaot.”

What was it like growing up in Layton, Utah?

“Utah has a large religious influence, and a lot of that puts a negative connotation onto rappers, because rap’s lyricisms are often surrounded with things considered to be sinful. As a youth I fell in love with hip/hop and the level of realism rappers could bring to the mic. Artists like Logic, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics taught me that rap can be used to convey messages of all sorts, from things like mental health, to drug addiction.”

Did any artist influence your style? If so, Who?

“One of my biggest influences is Jaden Smith, I love his beats, and his style, and many of my beats are influenced from his SYRE album. As far as my flow goes, one of my biggest influences has got to be Logic, the guy has some of the meanest flows in the game. Like I said above my lyricism is inspired by rappers who are real on the mic.”

What was it like writing “Nothin 2 It (feat. TheVan & RedDot)”?

“Writing this song was super fun, I had just been hit up by a friend who wanted to help me publish some music by me, so I went home and made myself a fresh beat. Which probably took me about a half hour, after which I had two of my friends come over (TheVan & RedDot) and I was like yall need to hop on this it would be sick. We decided to make the song about nothing, because a lot of rap songs that come out aren’t particularly about anything, hence the name “Nothin 2 It”. After writing the chorus and recording the song was complete, we promptly headed over to my buddies house and posted it online. Overall from start to finish the song took about 4 hours from starting in the beat to published.”

What are your goals before 2020 ends?

“The main thing I’ve been working on is freestyling. It’s not the easiest concept to get, but an essential one for any rapper, and it makes the recording process that much easier, and songs sound much better. After increasing my actual skill, I want to increase my fan base and recieve more feedback from my work, once again in order to become better then I am”
