Interview with Tristen Davies

What was the inspiration behind the EP?

“The inspiration of human was a follow up to. I AM. If you put it together meaning “I am human”. Meaning I am just a human being with human experiences expressing them in the best way I know how.”

What is your creative process like?

“I try to record multiple songs and cut them out as time goes on. I wanted human to be a 15 song album but I choose the 6 I like the most and dropped it.”

Is there any hidden meanings in your latest tracks off your EP?

“Well for one I think the song “Law 15” is my favorite. I’m dropping so many jewels, people have already caught on to it. The name itself is a reference to Robert Green. I try to be simple but clever so that a line I say in a song sticks with you and you have to think about it you know? For example in the song I said “ how you be rocking the annunaki but preach for the pope”, referencing the Ankh symbol I always wear versus humanist religion. Some little lines I throw to make you think and google things lol.”

What is your favorite part of this line of work?

“My favorite part is the therapist because it was so raw. I wrote the song just how it was in literally 20 minutes , didn’t change a word. At that very time in my life it was and is exactly who I am and how I’m feeling. It shows the Human side of me with feelings and sadness and yearning for something more that just money and fame, hence the EP title.”

If you had to sum up your latest EP in one word what would it be?

“Real. Everything I said is real. Nothing about me is fabricated. Down to my name , Tristen Davies.”
