Everyone give a warm welcome to 27 year old upcoming artist Brandon Reed or better known as Wit Kid. An artist from New Jersey with his release “Of Course”.

How’d you get the stage name Wit Kid?

“I came up with my artist name. I wanted something I felt resonated well with me and all of my dynamics. Something that fit my personality and had multiple meanings depending on how you pronounced it.”

Did you have any stage names beforehand?

“It is the first, last, and only name I’ll have and I'm proud to take full ownership of it.”

How was it like growing up in New Jersey?

“Growing up in New Jersey really came down to where you were located and the company you kept around you. As far as my childhood in Jersey it was average ”whatever that means” As I began to evolve into a teenager I started to gain the knowledge that not everybody is in your corner. Now being an adult I suffer from depression & anxiety due to the losses and other traumatizing events. Trying to stay in contact with my personality has not been an easy battle. I tend to blame myself for a lot of what some may say “I have no control over.” Theirs really no way for me to cope with all that has happened or for what is continuing to take place. “

What made you want to pursue music?

“My purpose for making music is not to force any one to understand what's being said based off of their own consciousness. If a connection is made that’s fantastic whether it be through a beat, mood, or lyrics. The music that I create I can not say is a way to escape the turmoil, nor does it relieve me of any pain for that matter.”

“once I stop recording that is.”

“It is merely a way for me to indicate a lot of what’s been going on with and around me. It allows me to say exactly what I mean as I am able to display true feelings in the way I connect with myself. My parents say I talk in riddles. Even though it’s really just the best way for me to express me. A vast majority of it was written during extremely rough times so it will mainly consist of distortion, pain, failure and uncertainty. I may not always talk about these things in every song but it will always be the main component of me.”

Did any artist influence your style? If so, who?

“I only had one idol in my life his name was KOBE BRYANT. After the day of his death I really began to think to myself what do I want to leave behind. Though I’m still not sure of what my purpose is in the thing I’ve been told was called “LIFE” this is the only thing I want to focus on with the time that I have left for the rest of it. Growing up I listened to a variety of artists and as I reached my early 20’s I started to explore more genres. To name any “one” artist as an influencer that I could not do. I’ll say this though, I enjoy any artist who makes music with pure feelings.”

What are your goals before 2020 ends?

“My only goal is to keep making music that gives me an out of body experience. We’re only here for a short time. Here today, 2mrrow may not follow.

-Wit Kid ”
