Interview with Young Jzo

Meet 23 year old Jason Stanley or better known as Young Jzo. A upcoming artist with hit song being SHORTY. Coming out Lake Orion Michigan he sure to grab your attention. Be sure to check him and his latest release out titled “playing with fire”.

Where’d you get the name young jzo? Did you have any other names beforehand?

“I got the name Young Jzo working around a drywall company at the age of 17, my first original name was STAN Lee because of my last name Stanley but when I was working at a company loading up the trucks for delivery a man named Alex said to me “ you ready to roll young J-Zo” I thought it was pretty cool so I was like fuck it that’s me and so the story began.”

What was it like growing up in Michigan?

“Very boring most of the time , I was born in Pontiac Michigan moved to Lake Orion when I was young. I was often made fun of how I talked haha but my mother always got on me about spoke”

What made you want to pursue music?

“I wanted to be a rapper as at the age of 19, I always thought about rapping because I loved rap /rnb when I was younger me and my good friend Slick would often practice free styling”

Did any artist influence your style? If so, who?

“I would say Childish Gambino Kanye West KYLE Nas X and Sade.”

What was it like writing “playing with fire”?

“took about a week I often listen to my unreleased music a lot and study to see if it is actually worth releasing.”

What was it like writing “SHORTY”?

“Very easy I wrote it in 15 minutes actually and freestyled the second verse. Apparently it’s my most known song but I am gonna be changing that real soon trust.”

What are your goals before 2020 ends?

“my goals before 2020 ends are to get more exposure and plays, 6–10 music videos, better marketing, to grow my fan base, and psa Justice for my people BLM.”
