Interview with YT HellaKingin

Everyone give a warm welcome to 28 year old upcoming artist CharaKnigh Lee are better known as YT HellaKingin. Coming out of San Jose, CA hes been on the come up with his biggest song “Friday Night ft Heartbreaka & Dale Keano”

How’d you get the stage name YT HellaKingin?

“YT abbreviates Young Trapz, and that’s what the streets know me as. And Hella Kings Global is my brand. So that’s how I got YT HellaKingin. Like NBA Youngboy or OMB Peezy.”

What was it like growing up in San Jose, CA ?

“I grew up in the hyphy movement era so there was a lot of thizz slappers goin on haha. That shit that makes you go dumb. This the mofucken bay it’s what we known for.”

What made you want to pursue music?

“It was just fun to do. Then it kinda went from a hobby to something serious. Just like playing a sport or something it just happened.”

Did any artist influence your style? If so, who?

“Yeah, when I first heard Lil Wayne I was like wtf he just say? His lyrics made you wanna go back and think about what he said because it made sense but didn’t at the same time. It catches your attention, and that’s what I think about when I write. Those punchlines and wordplay and things like that.”

What was it like writing “Friday Night ft Heartbreaka & Dale Keano”?

“I just wanted to make some turn up music that could be played at the club or bar and I stumbled across the beat. It’s basically me talking to my girl at the time through the song.”
