Natureboy Marco the South Carolina Artist On The Rise

Everyone give a warm welcome to Di’Fara Bethea better known as NatureBoy Marco. A 21 year old upcoming music artist from Florence, South Caroline. With his latest song “Redd Freestyle” that's been making him a name for himself. Marco says “Funny story red was made on accident. I had originally planned that song on another beat. I heard it and instantly started saying “bitch I see red”. So one day I was home freestyling some songs and I decided to do red and I opened the wrong beat for it. I didn't notice until a few days after but I liked the song so much I kept it. But to me that song is such a silent rage for example I said “Bitch I see red, with some tears on the side” referencing extreme anger. It’s kind of like “Pumped Up Kicks” Happy beat and delivery but outrageous lyrics.”

How’d you get the stage name NatureBoy Marco?

“One of my influences was my friend Justin that passed away we where working on music back in 2017 and we were going going to use Ric Flair as our tape cover but the name wasn’t set in stone we thought of “Two Nature” but ending up calling ourselves NatureBoys then ran with it.”

Did you have any stage names before Natureboy Marco? If so, what?

“Yeah my first stage name was Marco Santana lol but that didn’t last long.”

What was it like growing up in Florence , SC?

“Uhh it was different it’s a small town and it’s country so it wasn’t much to do but hang out. I grew up on the west side of town it wasn’t safe but most people knew my brother so I’d always walk around the hood and just find things to get into with him or my cousins but you can’t do that now it’s getting rough out there.”

Did growing up here have any influences on your music?

“Not really but then again I never really kept up with the music scene unless I found an artist myself plus it wasn’t many artist from here when I was younger .. none that made an impact on me I should say. It was more of my lifestyle that influenced my music.”

What made you want to pursue music ?

“Well I started with random freestyle sessions in the car with some of the guys and I would never rap so they would always pressure me into trying it so I eventually gave in and I started slow but I seen I was progressing fast and that is was easy to me I started taking it seriously then started getting more inspiration from other guys I were listening too at the time.”

Did any artist influence your style? If so, who?

“Yea definitely, some of those guys are XXXTENTACION he had a really big impact on me , Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, Lucki for sure Chief Keef too I think he changed the rap game a little and I was a big Lil Wayne fan growing up so him too.”

What artist friends have you meet through making music?

“I’ve met a lot of good friends from making music for starters Jameirkgolden, Lamante Foyaye, XV, my boy Hunter who designs clothes now, One of the best producers ever with Matt Graham, my guy Da$hBoy, Cashflow Casino, Lukovic and OG Kay the list is long.”

What are your goals for 2021?

“Really I want to push Mama Made A Rockstar but I know I still have to work on other music so I can say I want to be more consistent than ever and put out more content it’s been 2 years since my last album release and I’m as excited as ever to watch how I’m going to grow this year .. I just want to work towards being the best me possible.”
